THREE VERSIONS OF THE RENE LALIQUE ‘FIORET' PERFUME PENDANT
Two versions of the Rene Lalique pendant designed for FIORET PERFUME and a rare brooch presentation of the pendant.
The Rene Lalique glass pendants show a nude maiden standing or kneeling amongst flowering boughs.
The 'Fioret Pendant' was originally designed by RENE LALIQUE in 1924 as a gift presentation attached by ribbons to a bottle of FIORET perfume. The glass medallion could be fitted with silk cords and a tassel to be worn as a pendant. The glass of the pendant is thin and the design required back-lighting for best effect and was never totally successful as a pendant unless it had applied enamel "patine" as in the two examples presented here.
A popular conversion at the time was to make the medallion into a brooch presentation mounting it in silver or gold. Many of Lalique's brooches have coloured reflective foil backings to back light the subject and the FIORET pendant mounted as a brooch with reflective foil backing produced a rarer but much more successful presentation. The holes for the cords of a pendant would be filled with precious or semi-precious cut stones; in this example garnets have been used.

TWO SUPERB RENE LALIQUE CAT STATUETTES
Two of Rene Lalique's most beautiful and popular designs, the Sitting Cat and the Crouching Cat, statuettes.
The first models of these RENE LALIQUE cat designs were produced in 1932 but they have remained such popular works of art that the Lalique factory has continued to produce them at different periods almost to the present day.
These two examples are in a lovely clear crystal with excellent detail still existing in the moulds and are typical of the 1960's - 70's production. The 'CATS' have remained a firm favourite with collectors over the years and the more recent examples from the Lalique factory are produced in a frosted, almost white surfaced glass, with much less detail in the moulds.
These are such beautiful creatures that they are one of the few modern production items that we are always happy to have in stock.
